Transportation of Dangerous Goods

Companies involved in Offering for Transport, Handling or Transporting dangerous goods are required to comply with the federal Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act. These programs follow the new Clear Language regulation which was updated in 2003.  FSN customizes the program to some extent for each customer and provides certificates for the employer to issue to their employees. Written testing is done at the end of each program.

TDG – Clear Language Edition (TDG – 01) (1/2 day) (E/F)

Intended For: Employees involved in the any of the aspects of transporting dangerous goods and have some familiarity with the Act and Regulations. 

Course Content: Basics of the legislation including training requirements, exemptions, classifications, safety marks, packaging, UN symbols, documentation and emergency procedures.

Prerequisites: None

Valid for: 3 years

 

TDG – Clear Language Edition (TDG – 02) (1 day) (E/F)

Intended For: Employees involved in the any of the aspects of transporting dangerous goods,  have little or no familiarity of the Act and Regulations or need a more detailed review than those who take the TDG-01. 

Course Content: Basics of the legislation including training requirements, exemptions, classifications, safety marks, packaging, UN symbols, documentation and emergency procedures.  Includes exercises and in depth review of the Act and Regulations

Prerequisites: None

Valid for: 3 years

 

TDG – Service Truck (TDG – 03) (1/2 day) (E/F)

Intended For: Businesses carrying small amounts of dangerous goods in their service trucks

Course Content: Legislation basics, exemptions, classifications, safety marks, packaging, UN symbols, documentation

Prerequisites: None

Valid for: 3 years

 

TDG – Propane Specific (PTI 100-3) (1/2 day) (E/F)

Intended For: Businesses transporting propane cylinders or bulk propane. 

Course Content: Legislation basics, exemptions, classifications, safety marks, packaging, UN symbols, documentation. Specific propane requirements are focused on.

Prerequisites: None

Valid for: 3 years

 

IATA (IATA– 01)

TDG – Air Transportation (IATA-01) (1 day) (E/F)

Intended For: Businesses transporting dangerous goods by air. 

Course Content: Follows the guidelines set out in the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

Prerequisites: None, but should have a basic understanding of TDG

Valid for: 2 years
