Propane Refueling  

The propane refueling courses are approximately a half day in length and include both classroom and hands-on training.  Course materials were developed by the Propane Training Institute/Propane Gas Association of Canada and most are available in both English and French. All courses meet the requirements of the B149.2-05 Propane Storage and Handling Code as well as all Provincial legislation.

Propane Pump Attendant (PTI 100-01)

This course teaches service station attendants and other propane industry entry-level positions the basics of propane, about propane equipment and how to fill propane cylinders and vehicles. This covers filling cylinders by weight and by volume as well as vehicle refueling.

Filling Propane Cylinders (PTI 100-08)

Service station attendants are taught propane basics and how to properly purge and fill a propane cylinder by the weight and volume methods. Refueling vehicles is not included in this program.

Filling Auto Propane Tanks (PTI 100-02)

Propane filling equipment and steps for filling auto propane tanks are covered in this program. It is targeted at drivers or fleet personnel responsible for refueling the vehicles.

Filling Propane Carburetion Cylinders by Volume (PTI 400-04)

This teaches forklift drivers or filling personnel how to fill carburetion cylinders by the volume method. Typically this is for manufacturing customers who have a propane tank and dispenser at their facility.

Propane Carburetion Cylinder Exchange (PTI 400-06)

Those who operate propane powered off road vehicles such as forklifts, zambonis and scissor lifts need to know how to exchange the propane cylinder when it runs out. This course provides the procedures to exchange liquid withdrawal carburetion propane cylinders safely.
