Propane Filling and Exchange

The propane refueling courses include both classroom and hands-on training.  All courses meet the requirements of the B149.2-15 Propane Storage and Handling Code and all provincial legislation in Ontario and Atlantic Canada. Students complete a written exam and go through hands-on testing. Upon successful completion of this course, students receive a Record of Training (ROT).

Filling Propane Cylinders

Course Details

Service station attendants are taught propane basics and how to properly purge and fill a propane cylinder by weight and volume.

Length of Course: 4 Hours
Prerequisites: None
Validity: 3 Years

Note:

Attendants filling cylinders with a capacity greater than 46L (40lb) must also complete a Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) supplement as part of this training.

 

A combined Propane Filling and Propane Auto Tanks course is approximately 4 hours.

Course Details

Propane Cylinder Exchange

Course Details

This course teaches how to safely exchange cylinders on propane-powered equipment. Examples include forklifts, ice machines, and motorized elevating work platforms

Length of Course: 3 Hours
Prerequisites: None
Validity: 3 Years

Note:

Under the Occupational Health and Safety Act, propane cylinder exchange training is a requirement. However, while students receive a ROT, TSSA does not require a ROT for this particular training.

Propane Cylinder Exchange is included in FSN Training's Forklift Safety Program.
