Propane Torches & Kettles

The torch and kettle operation courses vary in length but all include both classroom and hands-on training. All courses meet the requirements of the B149.1-15 Natural Gas and Propane Installation code, the B149.2-15 Propane Storage and Handling as well as all other provincial requirements. Upon successful completion of this course, students receive a Record of Training (ROT).

Propane Torches

Course Details

This course teaches how to safely use propane fueled vapour and liquid torches. This course includes theory and hands-on components.

This course is intended for roofing, construction and industrial workers who use vapour and liquid torches for roof membranes, shrink wrapping, and ice melting.

Length of Course: 3 Hours
Prerequisites: None
Validity: 3 Years

Note:

This course allows for the operation of torches under 400,000 BTUH in Ontario.

Propane Kettles & Torches

Course Details

This course teaches how to safely use propane fired kettles and hot tar or bitumen roadtankers. It also includes vapour and liquid torches of any BTUH. It is intended for roofers, road crews, construction, and industrial workers. The course is also used as a base for those operating steamers or hot boxes.

Length of Course: 4 Hours
Prerequisites: None
Validity: 3 Years
